We are looking for a Registered health clinician – Psychologist, Social Worker, Nurse, or Occupational Therapist to join our team.

The Role | | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We are looking for Registered Clinicians to join our unique services in Wellington, which provide an alternative care option to traditional hospital settings for people in mental distress.

Crisis Respite: Short-term supports in a homelike environment caring for up to six guests participating in a therapeutic programme. You will triage and liaise with clinicians, facilitate education sessions and work alongside support workers to provide optimal care.

Primary wellbeing team: Promotes healthy lifestyles and provides health education and training. You will take a holistic approach, offer your clinical expertise and provide education on a variety of issues while working alongside NGO providers and tāngata whai ora. You love facilitating groups and working one-on-one to provide short, episodic care linked to an individual’s care plan.

Tātai Hono (Acute Alternative Day service): Intensive short-term support with the aim being able to provide an alternative to hospital admission, or earlier transition from hospital to home.  You will work closely with clinical services to triage referrals, offer your clinical expertise and provide education in a day space by facilitating groups and working one-on-one with guests, alongside support workers, to provide optimal care.

Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi 
We have four permanent, full-time positions. Work hours are flexible.

Role 1:

Working with the Mobile Primary Wellbeing Service, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00 pm.
Role 2:

Working at Crisis Respite, Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30am – 5:00pm or Sunday to Thursday, 8.30am – 5:00pm
Roles 3 & 4:

Working at the Alternative Day space, Sunday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30 am- 5.00pm.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support our tāngata whai ora in their recovery by using the strength of whānau and community.
  • Use your clinical lens to inform therapeutic programmes.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance to ensure all health care needs are addressed.
  • Provide input around assessment and treatment plans in our 24/7 services.
  • Liaise with relevant organisations and support our team to care for guests.

You will report to the Team Coach who supports and leads the team to provide excellent care to our community.

About You | Mōu
You’re a Registered Clinician with a passion for helping people live well. Along with your clinical expertise you’ll need to have:

  • A full clean NZ driver’s license
  • Dedication to the principles of trauma informed care
  • A passion for supporting those in need
  • Ideally, experience in mental health – but this is not required.
