Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist
- Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll for a variety of business clients
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports
- Prepare sales tax, personal property tax, and corporate annual filing reports
- Data entry, filing, scanning, and photocopying
- Receive incoming phone calls and schedule meetings
- Greet clients
Qualifications for Payroll Specialist
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred, but not required
- Proven experience in a payroll position, 1 year minimum required
- Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
- Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks
- Exceptional multitasking and organization skills
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time
