Associate Manager, Omni-Shopper Marketing (Value and DIY) Job at SC Johnson

The Associate Manager, Omni-Shopper Marketing (Value and DIY) role is within the North American Marketing Commercialization Team and is responsible for developing and managing all shopper marketing programs for Value and DIY Classes of trade. This Associate Manager will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Marketing, Sales Teams and the Shopper Marketing organization, including our Agency of Record & the retailer media partners, to develop and execute strategic shopper marketing plans and programs for these accounts. This position will require significant interaction with the account, including their marketing department, to develop strong business alignment, programming, and relationships. This candidate reports to the Manager of North America Omni-Shopper Marketing.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive annual Omni-Shopper Marketing plans for Value and DIY key accounts that align to SCJ Brand/Category strategies as well as support overall customer growth by incorporating the shoppers path to purchase.
  • Lead all Shopper initiatives for Value and DIY COTs to help deliver their business plans and elevate SCJ brands and business performance.
  • Lead creative brief development for all programs for accounts under his/ her responsibility annually. Clearly articulate communication objectives of brand and customer to inform and direct agency work.
  • Manage customer specific shopper budget, all programs must be executed on budget and on time.
  • Responsible for oversight of shopper marketing analysis by tracking agreed upon KPI’s to optimize ROI of shopper plans annually and utilize post program analytics to improve programs and tactics.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with retail media networks, Account marketing teams and sales teams across the accounts to help foster strong collaboration and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with account sales team to gain deep understanding of key business priorities to achieve growth at key accounts.
  • Responsible for day to day managing agency relationship to ensure programs execution and achieve performance standards.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to execute flawless shopper programs and to stay well-versed in shopper program innovation.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant business experience OR advanced degree and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant business experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Advanced marketing skills/experience. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3+ years of marketing experience (shopper marketing, brand management, or integrated marketing capacity)
  • Ability to execute against set objectives for maximum shopper impact.
  • Relationship development and strong customer focus.
  • Ability to translate NA commercial marketing objectives and to create programs that apply to customer specific needs.
  • Undergraduate degree preferably a Business degree with focus on Business Management & Marketing.
  • Computer literacy – Internal & External systems.
  • Knowledge of the intricacies of the retail environment.
  • Demonstrates urgency and decisiveness; takes prompt action to accomplish goals; proactively attempts to influence events rather than passively accept outcomes.
  • Builds effective working relationships by developing and collaborating with teams or those outside the team to accomplish organizational goals; takes actions that respect the needs and contributions of others; contributes to, drives towards, and accepts the consensus of the team after discussion.
  • Able and willing to transition quickly to different tasks, to shift priorities and modify actions to meeting changing job demands at short notice.
  • Commits to an action after developing alternative course of action that is based on logical assumptions and factual information; takes into account resources, constraints and organizational values.
  • Passion for innovation. Role requires extensive problem solving, understanding of consumer/shopper insights and alignment of cross-functional management.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work in self-directed environment. This role is empowered to establish the strategic framework for Shopper Marketing at these key accounts.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
